DESCRIPTION:OPENING RECEPTION for “Post-Historic St. Pete” exhibit by Luci Westphal\, capturing the duality in the changing urban landscape of St. Pete\, Florida\, today. \n\n\n\nThe photography-based art exhibit “Post-Historic St. Pete” is held at Forever Florida (2629 Central Ave) + Craftsman House (2955 Central Ave) + the walk in-between along Central Avenue throughout April. With two gallery locations\, there are TWO opening receptions: Craftsman House on April 10 (Thursday) and Forever Florida on April 12 during St. Pete 2nd Saturday Art Walk. Both galleries will be open for both those events. \n\n\n\nOther upcoming events are a speaker panel at Craftsman House on April 17\, and closing events on April 27 (FF) and May 10 (CH). \n\n\n\nThe photography presented on construction-related media (wood\, metal\, concrete\, glass) and on historic St. Pete windows juxtaposes iconic\, historic buildings with new high-rise constructions and other new-builds. Images of a construction site transferred to discarded wood from the same site points to sustainability. \n\n\n\nAlso on view is the work of Forever Florida resident artist Wasíl.

DESCRIPTION:Opening reception for the exhibit RISE at the Sightline Gallery and the lobby inside the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE). The latest exhibit at Sightline Gallery in partnership with Creative Pinellas\, features photography\, woodworking\, ceramics\, and poetry by local artists. The exhibit invokes both the literal and spiritual meaning of rise. Luci Westphal’s photography features soaring birds and comforting angels; Scott Solary carves sunrises and mountains celebrating the beauty of nature\, clay rises into stunning vessels in Charles Morrison’s hands\, and Leticia Cruz’s poem reminds us that each day we rise offers a new hope. \n\n\n\nThe opening reception is invite-only unless you happen to be in the terminal for a flight already. \n\n\n\nPart of the exhibit is visible to the general public before security\, but the main exhibit is in the Sightline Gallery after security check near Gates 7-11.  \n\n\n\nExhibit run: February 18 – June 15\, 2026
