Description
This is one of 11 panels that formed the interactive installation “Public Walls and In-Between Spaces” by Luci Westphal. The structure of three walls showed hand-transferred photographs on the outside and invited participants to leave their mark on the inside.
All photos were taken and hand-transferred to the wood by Luci Westphal. The signatures and drawings on the back were created by other artists and visitors of the exhibit.
All panels are 6 feet tall. This is one of the larger panels, built with 6 planks of wood, making it 31 inches wide and 2 inches deep.
The 16 photos featured on this panel were taken between 2011 to 2024 in Brooklyn (New York), St. Pete (Florida), Hamburg (Germany), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Haselau (Germany), and Ft. Collins (Colorado).
For more information about specific locations and urban artists represented, please see the Photo Map Legend of “Public Walls and In-Between Spaces” Thank you to the street artists who make our world a more interesting place.
The panel is built from high-end white wood and has been covered 3 times with UV-protective art-quality varnish in the front (photo side) and once in the back (“leave your mark” side).
The full installation, which was conceived for the Emerging Artist exhibit at Creative Pinellas (May – July 2024), also included flower boxes and live wildflowers on the outside, a tarp over the structure, and inside were sleeping bags, food, suitcase, bags, books and other items alluding to a person taking shelter in-between public walls.

For purchase within a 2-hour drive of the Tampa Bay region, I will arrange for free delivery. For purchases outside Central Florida, please contact me first so we can discuss potential shipping cost.
Each wall was made up of 3 or 4 panels. Individual panels and the complete walls are for sale. The entire installation could also be purchased or exhibited again. If panels have been sold already, new individual panels could be created, of course, they’d be different.
