So it happened: I got my very first, totally my own studio – not in my kitchen any longer, but in a building full of outstanding artists and galleries: the St. Pete ArtsXchange!
As of December 1st, I’m the proud tenant of Studio 114 in the ArtsXchange building (aka WADA building) in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Petersburg, Florida.

While my studio is very small and does not have a window to the outside, it’s so cool to have a space of my very own, which I don’t have to share with awaiting house chores or beloved (but sometimes distracting) humans and animals. And yes, the reference to Virginia Wolf’s A Room of One’s Own is on purpose. Today just as much, women especially do need a space just for themselves to be able to focus on their work and stretch their creative muscles and wings.
On the other hand, it’s also very important to me that I found a space that didn’t exist in a vacuum. It’s an honor that I was chosen to join the group of artists at the St. Pete ArtsXchange. The energy and potential synergy in the building is incredible. I’m just excited to be part of the community – and can only imagine what exhilarating artwork might come out of inspiration from others or even actual collaborations.
My studio will be open to you and anyone every St. Pete 2nd Saturday ArtWalk from 5pm until 9pm. You can also reach out to arrange a private viewing. I will also have a little opening for my little space on Thursday, December 12.
While I still haven’t figured out everything about how to arrange myself in the studio, I have a lot of my work already up on the walls and a desk and a cabinet with all of my supplies. And amazingly today, a very nice couple came through when I happened to be in my studio, and purchased 2 large wood transfers and cards! What a blessing – and the first month’s rent covered!
