Last night, Creative Pinellas held their annual fundraiser in celebration of their big Arts Annual exhibit and the local art community. This year the funds go back to artists impacted by hurricanes Helene and Milton.
My personal exciting news: the two first pieces I created for my “Post-Historic St. Pete” mixed-media project (in part funded by the Gobioff Foundation) were not only included in this exhibit, but also very well received and SOLD during the fundraiser.
Thank you so much to Beth Gelman (gallery curator) and Freddie Hughes (gallery manager) and Margaret Murray (big boss) and the entire team for making this happen.
And a huge “I can’t believe this is happening” thank you to the collector(s) who purchased my pieces. I hope I’ll soon know who it is!
The Arts Annual exhibit on display at the Creative Pinellas Gallery (11/29/24 – 1/5/25) features work by artists from Pinellas County, including friends Tracy Kennard, Mike Toth, Maureen McDole, Oliver Jackson, Harriet Monzon-Aguirre and Antonia Lewandowski – to name just a few.

New this year is the holiday pop-up shop in the cafe, featuring more work by some of the same artist and others, including myself and my husband Scott Solary (aka Man Glitter Studio).
Also for last night only, there was a special visual art exhibit called Still Shining, curated by Merritt Horan aimed to raise more funds for artists harmed by the hurricanes.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get any of my own photos before pieces from that exhibit sold and disappeared off the wall.
The Arts Annual exhibit is truly outstanding – including not only visual art but via digital means also poetry and performance art. Entry to the Gallery at Creative Pinellas is free – and it’s conveniently located by the Largo Botanical Garden, which has its holidays lights up to the awe of all visitors.
The Gallery will be open extended hours Wednesdays through Sundays, from 10 am – 8 pm, beginning November 29 to coincide with the opening of our first-ever Arts Annual Pop-up Gift Shop and the opening of the Florida Botanical Gardens Holiday Lights event, which annually attracts over 50,000 visitors to Pinewood Cultural Park.
