My art project “Post-Historic St. Pete” was more than just a visual exhibit located in a modern and in a historic gallery and the city walk in-between. Funded in part by the Gobioff Foundation, it also included a speaker event in one gallery and a Q&A and poetry reading in the other gallery. Here are a few impressions from both…

Expert Speaker Event at Craftsman House – April 17
A huge thank you to the expert speakers: Architect Alec Smith (Boone Architectural Restoration, Preserve The Burg), professor Jesse Sherry (Urban Planning, Environmental Studies at Eckerd College), gallery owner Jeff Schoor (Craftsman House, Preserve The Burg), and real estate agent Jim Longstreth (Your Neighborhood Realty Associates Inc.) for the lively and informational conversation they led. And another thank you to all the visitors who attended and participated in the conversation.
Thank you to the Gobioff Foundation and Craftsman House for helping to make this possible.

Closing Event with Poetry at Forever Florida – April 27
Thank you to Wasíl for hosting a closing party at Forever Florida and the poets Eleanor Eichenbaum and Jenny Boyar for their original poetry, poems based on my work, and interesting conversation. And thank you to everyone who joined us for the Sunday afternoon art exhibit closing event, which is becoming the place to be.
During this closing event, I also raffled off the 7 “found art pieces” that I had placed along the walk between the two galleries. Unfortunately, someone had taken one of them – so there were only 6 to raffle off. Thank you to everyone who engaged and posted photos of found art to enter the raffle. And I guess thanks to all the people who didn’t just take a piece off art from along the street (I had a note on the back of each piece). The “found art” were pieces of concrete I had found on a construction site and then used the image transfer method to permanently add a different photo I’ve taken of Post-Historic St. Pete to each of the concrete pieces.
