Photography as Vast Vinyl Prints

If you’re looking for a large artwork to cover a wall, but a mural is too expensive or too much commitment, my photography as a Vast Vinyl Print is the answer. Long-lasting, but not permanently attached, indoor and outdoor-ready, and very affordable. And any of my photos could work!

My photography as a Vast Vinyl Print are printed in the USA on 18oz heavy-duty vinyl, with vivid colors, using Latex Print Technology with heat-welded hemming. The high-resolution photo vinyl banner prints are Eco-friendly, non-tacky and odorless. The prints are designed with pole pockets, but don’t automatically include the poles.

Costs and Logistics of Vast Vinyl Photography Prints

The current prices for just the print (in standard sizes) are:
4 x 6 feet – $300
4 x 5 feet – $250
4 x 4 feet – $200

To hang the large vinyl photograph, you will need to have poles in the pole pockets at the top and bottom of the print. This is both to hang the print and to weigh the bottom down to keep it hanging evenly – even in the wind*. This method prevents grommet holes.

If you are local to the St. Pete area, I can include the metal poles and even come to install the print outdoors or indoors – at no extra cost.

If you are not local and are ordering a Vast Vinyl Print with shipping, I can give you details about purchasing the metal poles and wire or plastic holders from your local hardware store. The cost of the hardware should be around $10. Shipping would be more expensive.

If you order online, the default sizes are 6 x 4 feet (for photos in 2:3 aspect ratio) or 5 x 4 feet (for photos in 4:5 aspect ratio) or 4 x 4 feet (for square photos). If you’re looking for a different size, please contact me directly.

Background of Vast Vinyl Photography Prints

Originally, my vision to create these large-scale vinyl prints of my photography came from my focus of fine art photography for the outdoors. At that point, I offered only high-end MetalPrints (dye-sublimation into aluminum) made by Bay Photo Lab. They’re beautiful – but also quite expensive. So I looked for more affordable options… and was delighted when I received my first outdoor vinyl print: with the texture and the scale, it looked like a painting! It’s not a more affordable option, it’s a whole different art medium!

Scott and I experimented a little bit to find the best method of hanging the large outdoor photographs. The use of metal bars at the top and bottom in combination with a wire or holders makes it possible to easily hang, remove or swap out the Vast Vinyl Prints.

I was excited to present them at a Historic Kenwood Artist Enclave Studio Tour and immediately sell one… then two… and eventually more. BUT to my surprise, the first few buyers all hung them INDOORS!

It’s always very rewarding and a bit indescribable (humbling? magic?) to see where someone made room in their world for something you created. In the case of the Vast Vinyl Prints it’s been the most awesome – especially because it opened my eyes to Vast Vinyl Photography Prints being for the indoors just as much as for the outdoors. Who knew? The collectors did!

Oh, and yes, I came up with the term Vast Vinyl Print myself. Works, right?

*Hurricane Safety

If a tropical storm or hurricane is headed your way, I highly recommend taking down the large vinyl print. That is why we came up with a hanging system that makes it very easy to take the large photo down and hang it back up – or swap it out if you want a change.
