St. Pete Moving Still – Project Launch (Not Public)
November 2, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
During this invite-only event for residents, their families, and staff of the Westminster Suncoast Nursing Center, Luci will unveil the “Moving Stills” frames. Residents will be able to borrow these frames for their rooms until the public premiere on November 14th.
St. Pete Moving Still features a collection of portable frames, each showing a nature image that may at first appear to be just a photo, until the viewer detects some movement… Each frame, in fact, plays a video.
Based on the theory of biophilic art, Luci initiated this art project to improve people’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being as it connects the viewer to nature outdoors, while being indoors.
Luci Westphal received a 2022 St. Petersburg Arts Alliance Individual Artist Grant for her biophilic, social, visual art project St. Pete Moving Still.
