No matter what’s going on in the world, there is always too much great music for just one Favorite Songs Of The Year list. So I make a playlist for every quarter. These are my favorite songs from July, August and September. (4th Quarter List coming soon!)
The playlist of most-played new songs for the 3rd quarter of 2020 seems like a continuation of the 2nd quarter playlist. It’s pretty much how this summer felt: just a continuation of spring with the pandemic dictating most of our lives, protests happening around the world, US elections droning on – and with all that often senses of fatigue, loneliness, anxiety. But it was still summer, which meant more outdoor fun, some travel and reasons to be happier.
List of my favorite songs from the 3rd quarter of 2020:
- Ben Folds – 2020
- Charley Crockett -Welcome to Hard Times
- Jess Cornelius – Banging My Head
- Sorry – Right Round The Clock
- Model Child – Animal Noise
- The Front Bottoms – montgomery forever

You can listen to the entire 3rd Quarter of 2020 playlist on Spotify…
P.S.: This playlist is extra long not necessarily because there were so many more amazing songs this summer – but more because I’ve been having a harder time than usual to kick songs to the curb and lack the time to keep thinking about it. I suspect the 4th Quarter List will make up for it by being extra short… maybe.
