It’s a bit of a cliché to think of the music we listen to as being the soundtrack to our lives.
But when I finalize my favorite songs of the quarter every three months, I often get flashbacks of the times I listened to a certain song or of certain experiences, feelings and people.
With an intense summer like this one, the flood of images, feelings and memories is almost overwhelming. A great way to preserve special times.
For example, the first song “Summertime Is Coming” by Interpol’s Paul Banks is still a Brooklyn song… a rather dark and somber song before the whirlwind Berlin summer started. Of course, none of the lyrics should be taken too literally.
