Vivian Girls founding member Katy Goodman (aka Kickball Katy) and now recording as La Sera has released the debut album La Sera earlier this year. I wonder if all her songs make break-ups sound deceivingly happy as this song “Break My Heart” does.
The video, directed by Cassandra Lee Hamilton, is deceptively happy looking and wonderfully retro – featuring a suitcase full of cassette tapes (not unlike my red suitcase for the same purpose) and animated objects with the strings showing.
