First Aid Kit, the band of two young sisters from Sweden, makes such lovely, haunting and straight from the gut music. I currently can’t get enough.
I really like the fire, drive and youthful emotion that suddenly pushes through in the middle of their songs as it does in “The Lion’s Roar”, the title song from their third album.
But the song from the album that caught my attention first was “King of the World”, which features a guest appearance by Conor Oberst aka Bright Eyes, whose label First Aid Kit’s new album is on.
Of course, when talking about the sisters you can’t leave out how they first came to national attention: the cover of the Fleet Foxes song “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song” on YouTube in 2007.
