The Iranian-American student, artist and Iranian women’s rights activist Esha Momeni was finally released on bail today. Esha Momeni had been arrested in Iran for an alleged driving violation on October 15th – but more likely held due to her involvement with the women’s rights movement in Iran. She was in Iran to work on her thesis project, which involved conducting video interviews with activists and other women in Iran.
Her friends who set up the blog Free Esha and a Facebook group, sent out a message earlier today:

We got the news this morning. We have no other details but are happy that she’s safe and back home with her parents.
