Ever noticed that pigeons are EVERYWHERE? That’s why I made a Moving Postcard video featuring Pigeons of the World in 2012 with footage I had collected over the first two years of this web series. Since then, another 5 years have gone by… and it’s time for Pigeons of the World (Part 2).

Pigeons of the World (Part 2) – In Another Minute (Week 362)

The pigeons featured in this video, I filmed in Berlin (Germany), Szczecin (Poland), Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Paraty (Brazil), Cabo San Lucas (Mexico), Havana (Cuba), Chicago (Illinois, USA), and St. Augustine and Ft. Lauderdale (Florida, USA)… and a distant flock at Garden of the Gods (Colorado, USA).

As I was gathering this footage, three things struck me the most:

    1.    In about 4 years of living and filming in Colorado, I had next to no footage of pigeons. Could it be that Colorado is the one place in the world where pigeons don’t exist? Well, I found footage of a flock on the peak of a rock at Garden of the Gods. So no. But still… I had so much footage of other birds, especially birds of prey…

    2.    The only pigeons that appear to be in a natural environment (grass, trees) I filmed in Havana, Cuba – while the most consistent place I would see pigeons were the beaches around the world. Hmm…

    3.    While looking through Brooklyn footage, I realized that I never got the chance to make enough Brooklyn videos… and I would really like to move back there.

All the footage of these urban and beach birds I pulled from filming sessions of other Moving Postcard videos. If you want to watch videos dedicated to these places, just type your desired location into the search box above. I have made over 360 videos from cool places around the world. Go ahead, go on a little trip around the world… you may even run into more pigeons.

And if you’d like to see photography from around the world, I’d like to invite you to check out my new photography website: www.LuciWest.com!
